The
Property Tax Division is responsible for billing,
collecting, and disbursing property taxes.
Taxable property includes not only real estate but
also personal property; boats, business assets,
motor vehicles, and mobile homes.
The
City of Austell offers two (2) types of exemptions
for its residences. You must apply between
January 1 and October 1 to become eligible for that
year.
Homestead Exemption
This will exempt you from $2,000 of your total
assessment.
Age Exemption
To be eligible, you must meet the following
requirements:

sixty-five (65) years of age or older
-
cannot exceed over $10,000 gross annually. This
does not include income received from the Social
Security Administration.
