If you are
pleading guilty, you may pay your fine in
advance and will not be required to appear at
your schedule court date except for the
following. If you have been charged for one of
the following reasons, you must appear in Court.
Any citation
involving:
-
an accident
-
injury or
property damage
-
driving
under the influences
-
eluding
police
-
drugs
-
shoplifting
-
laying drag
or racing
-
open
container
-
under age
possession of drugs or alcohol
-
driving with
revoked, suspended or no drivers license
-
altered or
removal of vehicle identification number
-
no insurance
-
unkempt
property
-
abandoned
vehicles
-
speeding 20
miles or more over the speed limit
-
or if you
are under the age of 21 and have received a
citation for speeding 24 miles or more over
the speed limit
Failure to
appear for any of these citations will result in
either a warrant being issued for your arrest or
your drivers license being suspended and
additional court costs will be charged. The
only exceptions are for no insurance or no
drivers license charges. If you can provided
proof that the vehicle you were driving was
covered by insurance, or that you had a valid
drivers license at the time of the citation,
the charges will be reduced and you may pay the
reduced cost before your scheduled date and you
will not need to appear in court. If you cannot
provide proof, then you must appear. If you
have been cited for expired license or expired
tag, then you must provide proof that you now
have a valid license or tag. If you cannot
provide proof, then you must appear. If you are
pleading not guilty you may pick up and complete
and Arraignment waiver before your scheduled
date at Court Services located at the address at
the top of this page. A trial date will be set
for your case at that time. If you are pleading
not guilty and fail to complete and Arraignment
waiver before your scheduled court date you must
appear. |
